RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That Council adopts a Resolution (Attachment II) authorizing and appropriating an additional $1 million dollars in emergency funding from the General Fund Reserve fund for continued response to COVID-19 related community and emergency supply needs.
SUMMARY
On March 17, 2020, the City Council adopted a resolution ratifying a local emergency due to the ongoing spread of a severe acute respiratory illness in Alameda County caused by a novel coronavirus (COVID -19). At that time, Council authorized the appropriation of $3 million from the General Fund Reserve fund to address growing concerns within the Hayward community regarding the sudden onset of COVID-19.
This report requests that the City Council approve a resolution authorizing and appropriating an additional $1 million in emergency response funding.
