RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

That Council Economic Development Committee (CEDC) members receive the presentation from Acting Captain Heather Linteo of Hayward Police Department, who will provide an oral report on past and current crime statistics at Southland Mall.End

SUMMARY

This agenda item comes at a referral request from CEDC members.  Acting Captain Heather Linteo will discuss the efforts Hayward Police Department (HPD), in conjunction with Brookfield Properties, has made to combat the crime in and around Southland Mall.   HPD and Brookfield are proactively working to make Southland Mall a safe place for our community members and others to visit.  Acting Chief Bryan Matthews will also be in attendance for the discussion and to answer questions.
