CLOSED SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT  
The City Council convened in closed session on June 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., with all City Council  
members present, including Council Member Roche attending the second item, and no public  
speakers, regarding two items: 1) pursuant to Government Code section 54956.9(d)(1)  
regarding Caleb Smith, et al. v. City of Hayward, et al., U.S. District Court case no. C21-08467  
YGR; and 2) public employment for City Attorney  
54957(b)(1). City Attorney Lawson reported that the City Council met in closed session,  
discussed the items, and provided direction to staff related to Item 1. Mayor Salinas reported  
pursuant to Government Code section  
that the City Council took no reportable action on Item 2. The closed session adjourned at 6:43  
p.m.
