Receive a Presentation about the Monthly Budget Update For Fiscal Year 2026-27 Period Ending September 30, 2026
RECOMMENDATION
That the Council Budget and Finance Committee (CBFC) receives a presentation and provides comments regarding the monthly budget versus actuals for the General Fund for Fiscal Year 2026-27 period ending September 30, 2026.
SUMMARY
The City has taken a number of measures to balance the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 Operating Budget in the General Fund. At the October CBFC meeting, staff will provide a budget versus actual report of revenue and expenses for the General Fund for the period ending September 30, 2026, including a highlight of monthly salary and benefits costs and overtime by department (police, fire, and other departments).
At a high level, at this time of year, very few of the City’s top revenues have been received. Staff will share available revenue and expense data and report on current salary and benefits status. This data will be presented monthly throughout FY 2026-27.
