Recommendation
That the Personnel Commission review and approve the proposed revisions to the Crime Scene Technician and Crime Scene Specialist job classifications to create a flexibly staffed series and adopt the revised and retitled job descriptions into the City’s Classification Plan.

SUMMARY
The revisions and retitling of the Crime Scene Technician to Crime Scene Specialist I and Crime Scene Specialist to Crime Scene Specialist II create a flexibly staffed classification series. The Crime Scene Specialist I will flex to the Crime Scene Specialist II, with revisions designed to streamline career progression within the classification. This change offers a clear and structured pathway for employees to advance as they gain experience and complete necessary certifications, enhancing operational efficiency within the department.
