RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That the City Council adopts the attached resolution confirming the appointment of eleven new members to the Hayward Youth Commission, appointment of four Hayward Youth Commission alternates, and the reappointment of four continuing Hayward Youth Commissioners.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
On May 18, 2016 following the annual recruitment process, representatives from the three local public agencies (City of Hayward, Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD), and Hayward Unified School District (HUSD)) interviewed forty-two applicants for the Hayward Youth Commission, recommended fifteen individuals to fill existing vacancies, and accepted four requests for reappointment of existing Commissioners. The agency representatives were: Council Member Francisco Zermeño from the City; Board Directors Carol Pereira and Paul Hodges from HARD; and Board Trustee Dr. Luis Reynoso from HUSD.
As vacancies occur throughout the year, appointments will be made from the alternate list of four candidates that was established.
