Receive an Oral Presentation about the Monthly Budget Update For Fiscal Year 2026-27 Period Ending August 31, 2026
RECOMMENDATION
That the Council Budget and Finance Committee (CBFC) receives an oral presentation and provides comments regarding the monthly budget versus actuals for the General Fund for Fiscal Year 2026-27 period ending August 31, 2026.
SUMMARY
The City has taken a number of measures to balance the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 Operating Budget in the General Fund. At the September CBFC meeting, staff will provide a budget versus actual report of revenue and expenses for the General Fund for the period ending August 31, 2026, including a highlight of monthly salary and benefits costs and overtime by department (police, fire, and other departments).
At a high level, at this time of year, very few of the City’s top revenues have been received. Staff will share proposed format of report for FY 2026-27 and report on current salary and benefits status. This data will be presented monthly throughout FY 2026-27.
