The Clean and Green Commission discuss and take action to select a nominee for the 49th Annual Hearts of Hayward Volunteer Recognition and Awards Event.

SUMMARY
The 49th Annual Hearts of Hayward Volunteer Recognition Event is scheduled for April 2027. The deadline to submit nominations to the event committee is anticipated to be in January 2027. The event committee typically accepts the first twenty (20) nominations received.
The Clean and Green Commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting is February 25, 2027, which falls after the anticipated nomination deadline. Therefore, if the Commission would like to submit a nominee for recognition at the 2027 event, it will need to select and approve its nominee at the October 15, 2026, meeting.
