CAO 360 Degree Evaluations - Review of Consultant Proposals

RECOMMENDATION
During last year’s performance evaluations for the three Council Appointed Officers, the City Council identified a desire to include 360 degree evaluations as part of the annual review process. Staff worked with the Committee to draft a request for proposals (RFP) to solicit consultant assistance with this process. In response to the RFP, three consultant firms submitted proposals. The purpose of this meeting is to determine next steps in the consultant selection process.
We have included with this report a sample proposal ranking form to help you in your initial review of the three proposals. One form can be completed for each consultant. Staff recommends that the Committee interview all three consultants that have submitted proposals based on our review and knowledge of these firms. However, the Committee may determine that they do not want to interview all three. In addition, staff would recommend including another step in the process to allow the Council Appointed Officers an opportunity to interview the consultants and provide their recommendation to the Committee.
Following the interviews, the Committee would then make a recommendation to the City Council regarding award of a contract with the preferred consultant.
