RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

That the City Council adopts the attached resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Tartaglia Engineering (Tartaglia) for construction management services for the Hayward Executive Airport - Taxiway A1 and Taxiway Z West Reconstruction Project (Project), to increase the contract amount by $1,203,300, for a total not-to-exceed maximum compensation amount of $1,850,300. This amendment also includes additional design services related to C.3 stormwater treatment compliance. Funding in the amount of $110,000 will be appropriated from Project 06864 (Taxiway Zulu West Pavement Rehabilitation Construction).

SUMMARY

The Hayward Executive Airport (Airport) uses both in-house engineering staff and outside consultants to assist with the design and construction management of capital projects. The Airport uses outside consultants due to their engineering expertise and knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and standards.

The Project includes the rehabilitation of Taxiway Zulu between Taxiway Delta and Taxiway Foxtrot, the rehabilitation of Taxiway Alpha 1, and a realignment of Taxiway Zulu at Taxiway Delta.
