RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

That the City Council adopts a resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to have signature authority for all of the agreements and documents from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to accept and appropriate state and federal funded payments for the Pedestrian Traffic Signal Modifications Project, Project No. 05175; the Industrial Parkway/Ruus Road Bicycle Network and Intersection Improvements Project, Project No. 05716; and the Pedestrian Crossing Upgrades on Minor Arterials Project, Project No. 05308.

SUMMARY

Staff was successful in receiving four grants from the Caltrans Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) in Cycle 12 of that program. Two of the grants will be delivered as a single project due to the proximity of the improvements (along Ruus Road and at the Industrial Parkway/Ruus Road intersection). All of the projects are identified to receive appropriations in the FY 2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), including grant funding from Caltrans and required matching funding. The City's share for the projects is as follows:

* $175,580 for the Pedestrian Traffic Signal Modifications Project
* $250, 012 for the Industrial Parkway/Ruus Road Bicycle Network and Intersection Improvements Project
