That Council adopts a resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Diamondback Fire and Rescue for the purchase of portable, Amkus battery-operated auto extrication tools for fire apparatus.

SUMMARY
The Hayward Fire Department always strives to provide the highest quality of life-saving care in the event of any emergency. Too often, the need for emergency intervention involves removing a person from their vehicle after an accident. To remain prepared for all scenarios, the Hayward Fire Department (HFD) must purchase additional auto-extrication tools to ensure that all fire apparatuses are equipped with proper tools to face any emergency scenario.
