RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

That Council adopts a resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to accept and appropriate $30,000 in awarded grant funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety for the Hayward Police Department (HPD).

SUMMARY

HPD applied for and was awarded $30,000 in grant funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety for HPD as part of a Motorcyclist Safety Education and Training Program grant.  The grant award will be used to fund four “Live to Ride” motorcycle courses offered by HPD’s Traffic Unit staff.
