SUMMARY
As the City prepares to recruit for a position, the Human Resources Department reviews the job description with the respective operating department to make any needed updates to align with the City’s Classification Plan. This report is for the Supervising Building Inspector classification. The proposed revisions ensure that the job description accurately reflects the current and most recognized testing and certification organizations, and aligns the specification with the City's current classification standards and terminology while improving clarity, updating language, and ensuring the specification accurately reflects current operational practices and job function standards. These revisions were developed in collaboration with subject matter experts from the Development Services Department and Human Resources and have been reviewed and mutually agreed upon by the respective unions.
