The Clean and Green Commission discuss and take action to select a nominee for the 48th Annual Hearts of Hayward Volunteer Recognition and Awards Event.

SUMMARY
The 48th Annual Hearts of Hayward Volunteer Recognition Event is scheduled for April 2026. The deadline to submit nominations to the event committee is anticipated to be January 2026. The event committee typically accepts the first twenty (20) nominations received. The Clean and Green Commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting is February 26, 2026, which is after the deadline; therefore, if the Commission would like to submit a nominee, it must complete the nomination process at its October 16, 2025, meeting.
