SUMMARY
HFD currently has an agreement with Prenuvo Radiology to conduct Whole Body MRI Scans for the frontline members of the Department with a maximum compensation of $99, 291 for one year. HFD proposes extending this contract four years for a total term of five years with a maximum compensation amount not-to-exceed $100,000 annually and a total of $500,000 over five years, subject to the annual budget process.
This vital health screening is crucial for the overall health and wellness of the City’s first-responder firefighters, and Prenuvo was overwhelmingly chosen by the internal HFD group assigned to explore cancer screening options for HFD due to the complete and comprehensive nature of the exam, while, at the same time, providing a non-invasive procedure. Cancer screening services are a benefit that is contractually obligated through the Local 1909 union agreement, and HFD has received an enthusiastic response to Prenuvo with many firefighters requesting access to this service.
