RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That Council adopts the attached administrative resolution designating the City Manager, Director of Finance, and Director of Public Works as authorized agents to apply for state and federal disaster financial assistance on behalf of the City of Hayward.

SUMMARY
Under Public Law 93-228 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988 and the California Disaster Assistance Act, local governments are eligible to receive federal and state financial assistance for select costs incurred due to declared disasters. To be eligible for assistance, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) requires that the City Council designate authorized agents to apply for and obtain financial assistance on the City’s behalf.
The attached form and administrative resolution designates the City Manager, Director of Finance, and Director of Public Works as authorized agents, allowing staff to apply for state and federal disaster assistance.
