Recommendation
That Council adopts the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept and appropriate up to $100,000 from the Fairview Fire Protection District for special projects between June 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

SUMMARY
The Board of the Fairview Fire Protection District (FFPD) passed a resolution in May 2018 to transfer $15,000 to the City of Hayward to pay for services connected to the Hayward Fire Department’s Chipping Program. The FFPD Board has expressed potential intent to provide additional funds to the City in FY 2019 for the provision of similar services, as well as services connected to defensible space demonstration projects. Should Council choose to adopt the attached resolution, it would authorize the City Manager to accept up to $100,000 between June 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019 and to appropriate the funds to the City’s Local Grants Fund to pay for expenses related to these services.
