RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That Council approves the attached resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to accept and appropriate $7,500 from the California State Library to purchase books for the Library collection.

SUMMARY
The California State Library (CSL) provides small grants to local libraries to purchase library materials and fund staff development. In August, CSL allotted $7,500 to the Hayward Library to spend by September 21, 2018. There is no required match for this grant. If the Council authorizes this action, staff will appropriate the funding into the Library Department’s budget and purchase books for the Library collection.
