RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That Council approves the attached resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to accept and appropriate funding for the operations of the City’s Library Education Services Programs in the following amounts:
1) $100,000 from the Hayward Unified School District,
2) $11,500 from Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, and
3) Up to $80,000 in grant funding from the California State Library

SUMMARY
The City provides education support to Hayward youth and to adult learners through its Library Department. Over the past several years, the City has received funds to supplement the City’s General Fund costs for these programs. Staff requests Council acceptance and appropriation of funds from the Hayward Unified School District in the amount of $100,000, Chabot-Las Positas Community College District in the amount of $11,400, and up to $80,000 in grant funds from the California State Library for FY 2019. With Council approval, staff will appropriate the funding into the Library Department’s Education Services budget and provide services per the terms and conditions of the agreements.
