Recommendation
That the Planning Commission adopt the Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) and Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) and approve the Site Plan Review application for the development and expansion of the existing
Fire Station #
6, Regional Aircraft Rescue
Firefighting Facility and
Fire Training Center based on the analysis set forth in this staff report and the required Findings (Attachment II), and subject to the Conditions of Approval (Attachment III).
SUMMARY
The City of Hayward Public Works Department and
Fire Department is requesting approval of a Site Plan Review (SPR) application to allow for the development and expansion of the existing
Fire Station #
6, Regional Aircraft Rescue
Firefighting Facility (ARFF), and
Fire Training Center to be located on a
6.7-acre portion of the Hayward Executive Airport.
The project involves the demolition of the four existing
fire station structures and the construction of nine structures that will include a new
fire station/classroom building, apparatus building, hangar building, training tower, burn building, outdoor classroom, entry canopy, etc. totaling approximately
66,300 square-feet of building floor area with on- and off-site improvements (sidewalk installation, landscaping, stormwater management, etc.).
