RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
That the Council adopts the attached resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute a professional services agreement with G Force Global in an amount not to exceed $84,000 for the completion of decommissioning the legacy Unisys system and migrating the data to SQL with a .net interface.
SUMMARY
The City of Hayward’s ERP solution, Munis, was adopted on July 1, 2013. The scope of this project did not include migrating the entire data set from the legacy financial system, Unisys. Currently, staff continue to work in both the Munis and Unisys systems to complete their work and data gathering assignments related to financial data. The Unisys system is written in a legacy programming language on a Microsoft platform that is no longer supported. After staff research, it has been determined that the best course of action to protect and house this data long term is to convert the Unisys database to a modern format and build customized reports from the converted data using a consulting service. G Force Global has been identified as a consultant to provide this service.
