That the City Council adopts the attached resolution, declaring a climate emergency.

SUMMARY
Cities around the world are declaring a climate emergency. The City of Berkeley is organizing Bay Area jurisdictions and convening a task force to take action. Adoption of the attached draft resolution (see Attachment II) would endorse the declaration, reinforce the City’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and educate the community about the climate emergency.
Council Sustainability Committee - On November 26, 2018, the Committee considered the draft declaration and recommended that Council adopt a resolution, declaring a climate emergency.
