Recommendation
That the Committee votes to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair or re-elect current officers until June 2022.

SUMMARY
The Council Economic Development Committee (CEDC) Bylaws state that new officers will be elected at the end of each fiscal year. After the November 2020 General Election results were certified and new Council Members were sworn into office, the Mayor appointed new members to serve on the CEDC.
At the February 2021 meeting, Council Member Salinas was elected Chair and Council Member Andrews Vice Chair. To comply with bylaws, staff is asking the CEDC to determine what action should be taken at this time.
If the CEDC decides to elect new officers for Fiscal Year 2022, a separate motion will be needed for both the Chair and Vice Chair seats. If the CEDC decides to keep Council Member Salinas as Chair and Council Member Andrews as Vice Chair, a motion can be made to re-elect existing officers to terms ending June 2022. Terms for officers are one year.
