Recommendation
That Council adopts a resolution (Attachment II) authorizing the City Manager to accept and appropriate up to $15,000 annually in donations for the next five years for the Annual Volunteer Recognition and Awards Dinner.

SUMMARY
For the past 40+ years, the Annual Volunteer Recognition and Awards dinner has served as an opportunity to thank the most dedicated community members in the city. The City, in partnership with the County Board of Supervisor’s Office, has hosted the dinner to continue to pay tribute to Hayward’s most selfless and dedicated volunteers. The County has donated funds for this dinner, which have been used to pay for expenses to facilitate the dinner. Staff is requesting that Council authorizes the acceptance and appropriation of donations for this event for the next five years, not to exceed $15,000 each year.
