Recommendation

That the Committee members review and discuss the role and purpose of the newly formed Public Safety Committee along with desired agenda topics.

SUMMARY

The City Council formed the new Council Public Safety Committee in December 2023 (Attachment I Staff Report).  This will be the first meeting of the new committee and it will be important for the committee to discuss and clarify the role and purpose of the committee as well as suggest future agenda topics of interest.  Staff has prepared a tentative agenda planning calendar, which appears later on this agenda, but will also take direction from committee members on other topics of interest.
